Domestic Violence Forum - to be announced
The Forum
The Oro Valley Prosecutor’s Office is now hosting a bi-annual Domestic Violence Forum for the citizens of Oro Valley. Domestic violence cases have steadily risen over the past several years; with the current economic climate, prosecutors are seeing even more of these cases. The Oro Valley Prosecutor's Office feels it is important to educate the citizens on the effects of domestic violence on society and thus has created this free, public forum.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who is interested in learning the effects of domestic violence; anyone who has either been a victim of domestic violence or knows someone who is or has been a victim of domestic violence.
Why Should you Attend?
As the economy weakens, creating unemployment and financial stress on households, incidents of domestic violence often rise. It is important to learn about the resources available to your community to help reduce the risk of these cases.
Purpose
Public Education. Attendees will learn about Oro Valley’s policies regarding domestic violence arrests; the effect of domestic violence on society; and programs available to victims. Overall, we hope to educate victims on how and why it is important to seek help and learn what they can expect from the legal system.
