Town Attorney

The Town Attorney's Office is comprised of the Civil Division and the Prosecution Division.  The Town Attorney is appointed by the Mayor and Council to act as the chief legal advisor to the Mayor and Council, Boards and Commissions, the Town Manager and all Town Departments.  The Town Attorney is committed to providing the highest quality representation possible to meet the present and future needs of the Town in an efficient and effective manner.  

Civil Division

The Civil Division of the Town Attorney's Office is comprised of a Chief Civil Deputy Town Attorney, Paralegal II and an Office Assistant.  The Civil Division is responsible for providing advisory and transactional support to the Mayor and Council, Boards and Commissions, the Town Manager and all departments, which includes preparing opinions, contracts, deeds, ordinances and resolutions.  This division also defends the Town and pursues legal claims on its behalf either directly or through outside legal counsel which it supervises.

Prosecution Division

The Prosecution Division of the Town Attorney's Office is comprised of the Town Prosecutor, Assistant Town Prosecutor, Senior Paralegal and Legal Secretary.  The Prosecution Division is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor crimes within the Oro Valley Town limits.  These crimes include the misdemeanor violations of the Arizona Revised Statues (ARS) and the Oro Valley Town Code.  Under these laws, the Prosecution Division prosecutes Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Shoplifting, Assault, Domestic Violence, Drugs, traffic offenses and other misdemeanor offenses. It is the goal of the Prosecution Division to work with the Oro Valley Police Department and other Town Departments to ensure a safer environment for Town residents.
