Oro Valley Citizen Corps Council
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has encouraged communities to prepare for emergencies in their homes, business and neighborhoods. The Oro Valley Citizen Corps Council (OVCCC) was formed in 2002 in response to the President’s call for local communities to take the lead in emergency preparedness.
The OVCCC Chair appoints members to the OVCCC. The Council meets regularly to explore ways to help Oro Valley prepare for emergencies by participating in regional and statewide exercises and simulations. The OVCCC is made up of residents, local fire departments and school districts as well as active members in neighborhood watch, fire corps, medical reserve corps, Citizen Volunteer Assistants Program (CVAP) and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
