Computers at the Library
Public Computers
Oro Valley Public Library offers 41 public use computers -- Internet Access Desktop Computers, Catalog Only Desktop Computers, and Library Laptops plus free wireless Internet access with your own computer.
Internet Access Desktop Computers can be reserved at the PC Reservation/Printing Station, by calling the library at 229-5300, or stopping by the Information Desk. Laptops with WiFi access are also available to borrow for use within the library. A Laptop Loan Agreement is required. Laptops cannot be reserved.

Internet Access Desktop Computers
Some of the desktop computers are designated as Internet Access computers. These computers allow access to the Internet, library databases, email, Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing (version 16) and Microsoft Office software (2003) including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Publisher. All you need is your library card and PIN number to log in to one of the computers. Visitors can borrow a computer only library card with an I.D. Printing is available from the Internet Access Desktop Computers for 10¢ per page through the PC Reservation/Print Station, which takes up to $4.50 in bills and change.

Catalog Only Desktop Computers
Catalog Only computers are available for accessing the library catalog. These computers do not have access to the Internet, library databases, email, Microsoft Office software programs or the Mavis Beacon program. Printing is unavailable from these computers.

Laptop Computers
No longer will you be confined to a desktop while at the library. Lenovo ThinkPad laptop computers are now available for checkout at all library Information Desks. Check one out and relax anywhere inside the library!
How do you sign up to borrow a laptop? To borrow a laptop you will need to complete a signed Laptop Loan Agreement, which will be kept on file for one year. You will also need the following:
- Your library card, in good standing, updated with current information.
- A valid drivers license or other picture identification.
- Picture ID and library card are held at the library Information Desk until the laptop is returned.
Free WiFi
Free Wireless Internet Access is now available using your own wireless-enabled laptop computer or a borrowed library laptop.
