Craigslist (social networking site)

Craigslist-Tucson provides lists of local classifieds for jobs, events and other things.  Craigslist offers a discussion forum for jobs and a section to post resumes for jobs wanted.  Search for other jobs, events, and discussion forums in other locations nationwide at www.craigslist.org.   

Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona

Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona provides jobs at Goodwill and also helps individuals find jobs in the community through their Job Connection services. They also offer a number of services that train and prepare people for employment including computer and customer service training.  This ready-to-earn training provides low-income individuals with the skills needed for successful employment in the customer service industry. These skills include general computer instruction, keyboarding, Windows, customer service and telephone etiquette.

LinkedIn (social networking site)

LinkedIn is a tool for job searching and connecting with other professionals in your field.  Browse jobs in different categories and search for jobs by keyword, title, company or location.  An article in the April 12, 2010 edition of Fortune magazine entitled, "How LinkedIn Will Fire Up Your Career," explains how LinkedIn can help you find the job you want. (This magazine is available for check out at the library and is available online by clicking the title above.)  

Mature Worker Connection (Pima Council on Aging)

Mature Worker Connection is a referral and placement service that seeks to make employers aware of the value of mature workers, refer well-qualified mature applicants who meet the workforce needs of employers, and ensure that mature workers are prepared for and secure meaningful employment.  Register with the Mature Worker Connection, take one required workshop to prepare for your job search, email your resume and meet with one of their intake specialists.  The Mature Worker Connection is located at 1607 S. 6th Avenue, Phone: 520-623-3304.

Microbusiness Advancement Center (MAC)

The Microbusiness Advancement Center helps individuals realize their dream of starting, funding and growing their own business. MAC drives the development of small businesses in Southern Arizona by providing clients with quality training, resources, and access to microloans. Pima County One-Stop Employment Centers

One-Stop Employment Centers provide free services including job placement, skills assessments, job training, career counseling, resume development and more to job seekers. The closest center in Tucson to the Oro Valley Public Library is Jackson Employment Center, located at 300 E. 26th Street, Phone: 520-882-5500.

Unemployment Resources (Arizona Department of Economic Security)

Arizona Department of Economic Security's unemployment resources webpage provides information on unemployment and a link to apply online for unemployment benefits.  Find out about available training scholarship programs.  Contact information is located on the AZ Unemployment Insurance Call Center webpage.
