Job Search, Career Exploration and Building Help at the Library

Job Search & Career Building Help @ Oro Valley Public Library

Consult with a library professional on accessing library and online resources related to employment resources. Use a desktop computer with Microsoft Office software for searching for jobs online, creating your resume and building your career. To schedule an appointment call the Library at 229-5300.

Dedicated computer time and online help for job seekers, including resume preparation, filling out job applications, looking for jobs online and career exploration.

Facilitated Gathering for Job Seekers

A facilitated gathering for job seekers will take place on Fridays 3 - 4 p.m. in the Meeting Room. There will be a presentation on a specific topic presented by Beth Cole, former executive recruiter, followed by a facilitated group discussion. View the Library Calendar to confirm event dates. 

Beth Cole has placed many professionals in the real estate, transportation and association industries. As a CEO and marketing consultant, Ms. Cole also served as president of the Women’s Business Center in Washington, DC, for six years where, in addition to her management responsibilities, she developed curricula, counseled business owners, and facilitated workshops. She has held senior level positions with National Public Radio and the International Masonry Institute as well as consulting with large and small businesses around the United States. Currently she advises small business owners, conducts seminars, speaks and writes.

SCORE Business Counseling @ Oro Valley Public Library

One-hour appointments with a SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives) counselor on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - noon (excluding holidays) at the library in the Study Room. Call the library at 229-5300 to make an appointment.

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business," a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small businesses. SCORE provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. Counselors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation. They have assisted many clients in obtaining business loans. SCORE sponsors an Oro Valley Business Club, designed for business and community leaders who are interested in growing their business, building relationships and becoming more involved in the Oro Valley community.  The club meets the second Tuesday of every month.
