Volunteer Day
March 5, 2011     9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This event will focus on volunteer opportunities in the community. Contribute your talents and skills by volunteering to a worthy cause or organization that needs help. View event schedule

The Oro Valley Public Library event committee would like to thank the volunteer organizations, Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library, and the community for an exceptionally successful 2011 Community Days – Volunteer Day. The library staff would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all the volunteers, especially Bob Schumann and his committee, who enthusiastically contributed their time and efforts to this wonderful event. The Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library provide funds for the Community Days events and we are always so grateful for their tremendous support. There were 1,520 people that visited the library and enjoyed the experience of meeting the 26 local organizations to learn about volunteer opportunities within the community! View photo gallery

Live Green Oro Valley
April 9, 2011     9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This event will focus on how we all can build a better, greener community with local experts on green living know-how and fun family activities. View event schedule

The Oro Valley Public Library event committee would like to thank the wonderful presenters, exhibitors and organizations who participated at the Live Green Oro Valley event. Their knowledge and resources on green living and sustainability practices were truly outstanding and very much appreciated! The community was invited to this special event which featured eco-friendly topics such as Alternative Fuel Vehicles, Home Energy Efficiency, Solar Power, Xeriscape and more. The Chevrolet Volt, courtesy of O'Rielly Chevrolet, was on display at the front of the library. Among other awards and recognition, this hybrid electric vehicle won the 2011 Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal and the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year. View photo gallery

Job Search & Career Building
It's All About Jobs: It's All About You

This event will focus on job search and career building. Dozens of local organizations will be on hand to provide valuable, professional information. Join us so you can discover new strategies for finding your next job, including how to perform online job searches, learn new interview techniques, career advice, networking and much more!

Author/Book Day
November 5, 2011     9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

 This event will feature an Authors' Café, How to Build a Better Bookclub, Children's Author Panel, Digital Child Identification, and World of Words Storytime. View event schedule
