AARP Tax-AideFebruary 2 – April 15 • Tuesdays, 9 a.m. – Noon • Thursdays, 1 – 4 p.m. Free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance serving low- and middle-income taxpayers with special attention to those ages 60 and older. According to the AARP website, the tax help sessions "are the nation's largest, free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service." |

2010 CensusMake a difference in your community and be counted in 2010. Census data helps determine which states gain or lose representation in Congress, as well as the amount of state and federal funding our communities receive for education, hospitals, new housing developments, neighborhood improvements and public transportation systems.Census forms will be mailed to households in March. With only 10 questions, the Census form takes about 10 minutes to complete. By participating in the census, you can help create a better future for you and those important to you! Great Decisions - Global Financial CrisisMonday, April 12 • 9 – 11:30 a.m. • Program Room • Adults The global financial crisis that began in late 2007 revealed major deficiencies in the regulation of markets and institutions, all of which were at risk to collapse. Emergency measures to prevent a full collapse of the global financial system have led to mixed results. How will governments and the world community respond to this challenge? Dr. Arvind Singh, faculty member at the University of Arizona's Finance Department, will discuss the global financial crisis. This program builds upon discussion topics raised during the Great Decisions Foreign Policy Series. |
