Stacey Lemos was appointed as Interim Assistant Town Manager on Oct. 7, 2009.
Lemos has served as finance director for the Town of Oro Valley since November 2005, but began her governmental finance career in the town 17 years ago as an accountant.
Prior to returning to Oro Valley, Lemos worked in government finance administrator positions in Wilcox, Arizona, where she served as the finance officer for almost three years; the town of Sahuarita, Arizona, where she served as the town’s first finance director for seven years; and the city of Tucson, Arizona, where she served as the deputy finance director for almost two years.
The Finance Department is responsible for town financial activities, including accounting, payroll and accounts payable processing, budget development, coordination and analysis, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, debt management, managerial reporting and procurement.
Lemos attended the University of Arizona, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting.
Stacey grew up in northwest Tucson, attending high school in Oro Valley at Canyon Del Oro High School. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and currently serves as the president of the Government Finance Officers Association of Arizona. |
