Community Funding

On November 18, 2009, the Oro Valley Town Council unanimously voted to suspend the Community Funding Program for fiscal year 2010/11. As you are aware, the recession has created tremendous shortfalls in our revenues, and the situation continues to worsen as the State evaluates its budget situation. Oro Valley finds itself facing a more than $2 million projected shortfall in the coming fiscal year.

This was a difficult decision, but we must make every effort to close the projected budget shortfall facing the Town next fiscal year. We understand the services provided by your organization are important for our community, and that the Community Funding program plays an important role in your ability to provide these services. As the Town’s financial position improves, we hope to continue future opportunities for nonprofit organizations to request support.
