Biography:

Craig Civalier brings more than 33 years of experience in civil engineering to the town of Oro Valley. He was appointed town engineer in September 2005, after serving as the development review division manager for the Public Works department.

Civalier spent 20 years working for the Monroe County Department of Transportation in Rochester, New York, where he began his employment as a construction inspector and was promoted up to construction engineer. In August of 1996, Civalier accepted a position with the city of Casa Grande, Arizona as a civil engineer.

Civalier, a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the state of Arizona, holds two associate degrees in civil engineering technology from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York and a bachelor’s degree in environmental earth science and hydrology from State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. From 1992 to 1994 Civalier attended Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations program in supervisory management.

Civalier is a member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS). He is also involved with the Sky Island Alliance and Native Seeds Search.

Civalier enjoys reading non-fiction, hiking, camping, listening to a variety of music, cooking, shopping and his golden retriever, River Bear.
