Sign Code Update
A comprehensive review of the Town’s Sign Ordinance is under way focusing on permanent signs, temporary signs, master sign programs, illumination standards, real estate signs and homebuilder signs. This update will include a series of meetings with the Sign Code Task Force, two focus group meetings and a community meeting.The Task Force members are:
- Citizens-at-Large (Zev Cywan, James Bowman and Mary Caswell)
- Chamber of Commerce (Ramon Gaanderse, President of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce)
- Commercial Developer (Barry Kitay, Whirlygig, Mercado at Canada Hills)
- Business Owner (Bonnie Quinn, Owner of Down Home Delights)
- Sign Company (Mark Jones, Fluoresco Lighting and Signs)
- DRB Member (Thomas Gribb)
- Real Estate Agent (Bob Semple, also a HOA Board Member)

COMMUNITY DESIGN
2.1.10 The Town shall create standards for signage to provide information and direction to allow businesses to attract and maintain customers with the least intrusive signage possible.
2.3 To ensure the maintenance of dark skies and at the same time provide for the safety of its residents.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
3.1.5 The Town shall continue its efforts to attract new high-end retail and service businesses, especially those in under-represented categories, in order to help reduce expenditure leakage.
OPEN SPACE AND NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION
11.3.3 The Town shall use existing standards and guidelines, and establish new ones as needed, to ensure that the built environment blends with or enhances the natural environment by:
- restricting signage primarily to identification
